The video could also be fake given the poor quality

The iPhone 8 is projected to be unveiled on September 12, so we’re only a few days away from the moment when we’re going to find out everything about the device, but leaks landing in the meantime continue to generate excitement in the Apple community.

Living proof is a video that is making the rounds as we speak, as it allegedly shows a working iPhone 8 that presents some of the features said to be coming to the device, including the new iPad-like dock.

Since Apple decided to remove the Home button on the new iPhone in an effort to obtain an edge-to-edge display, the company replaced its functionality with gestures and iOS features, including a dock that’s supposed to provide quick access to the most frequently used apps.

Rumor has it that the new dock would be very similar to the one on the iPad, and the video here seems to be pointing in this direction, though once again, it’s not clear if this a fake clip or not. The blurry parts and the low light could easily hide a fake video, though there are details that indeed seem to align with some information we’ve heard about the iPhone 8.

The notch, for instance, is one of them. The sensor bar at the top of the screen, which Apple is reportedly referring to as “notch,” will split the upper part of the display in two, as it’ll include the FaceTime camera, the facial recognition cameras, and the earpiece.

And just as rumored, this video shows the time on the left side of the screen, while the status indicators are placed on the right, including battery life and cellular signal.

Several other gestures are also likely to be featured on the iPhone 8 to overcome the lack of a home button, and full details will be shared next week at the company’s press event at the Apple Park.
