The adoption of version 20H2 is also increasing

Windows 10 May 2020 Update, or version 2004, continues to be the world’s number one feature update released by Microsoft for its operating system, according to new data shared by AdDuplex.

On the other hand, the adoption of the October 2020 Update, also referred to is on the rise, though December brought a smaller increase as compared to the previous month.

More specifically, version 2004 is now at 40.4 percent share in the Windows 10 world, followed by the November 2019 Update with 33.2 percent.

Windows 10 October 2020 Update is the third in the charts with 13.6 percent.

“October 2020 Update adds close to another 5% to its market share and is on 13.6% of Windows 10 PCs as of the end of December. Close to 80,000 Windows 10 PCs were surveyed,” AdDuplex says. “Windows 10 20H2 grew a bit slower in December than it did in November. We will see if it picks up the pace after the holidays.”

Old versions losing ground

No less than 0.3 percent of the computers surveyed this time were running Windows 10 Insider Preview builds, and this is good news for a wide variety of reasons.

Just think these computers help Microsoft further polish the experience with a Windows 10 feature update before it gets the go-ahead for production devices, so theoretically, they lend a hand to the company to make sure everything is running smoothly.

At this point, only 1.7 percent of the computers out there are still on Windows 10 April 2018 Update, or version 1803. Windows 10 October 2018 Update, also known as version 1809, or Microsoft’s biggest Windows 10 flop so far, has dropped to 1.5 percent, and there’s a chance the decline continues as more devices are updated to the latest releases.
