Windows Phone fans probably remember that Verizon launched an affordable smartphone earlier this year, the LG Lancet.

The LG Lancet was released at Verizon for $120 outright. The smartphone is powered by Windows Phone 8.1, but it's unclear whether or not it will receive the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade.

However, for those who prefer Android platform instead of Windows Phone, Verizon made it possible to order another version of the LG Lancet powered by Google's mobile operating system.

The price has been kept the same, so if you wanted to buy the LG Lancet, but you were having second thoughts due to Windows Phone, you can now get the Android model for $120 outright.

Also, the specs are similar, so if you've been following the news related to LG Lancet with Windows Phone 8.1 onboard, then you already know what the new version has to offer.

A cheap phone running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

Still, here is a quick rundown of the LG Lancet for those out of the loop. First of all, the smartphone ships with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.

The handset sports a 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution. Under the hood, LG Lancet employs the services of a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, and 1GB of RAM, which should be enough to run most Android games and apps.

The smartphone comes with only 8GB of storage, but users can further expand storage up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

On the back, LG Lancet packs an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary VGA camera for video calls.

According to Verizon, LG Lancet's 2,100 mAh battery should offer more than 17 days of standby time or up to 10 hours of continuous usage.

Last but not least, the smartphone supports HD Voice and Verizon's 4G LTE and 3G CDMA networks, among other connectivity options.
