Guild Software is announcing today the availability of a new update of their popular, multiplatform massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), versioned 1.8.407.

While Vendetta Online 1.8.407 is the latest stable release of the game, the release notes also include information about the changes that landed in Vendetta Online 1.8.406. New features include increased mine timeout lifespans and maximum count per sector or user, and a brand-new gamepad configuration menu for the Android platform.

"The gamepad configuration UI should be a big benefit for players. It is being tested first on Android, specifically for GearVR and regular Android users, but will eventually be featured on the PC as well (PC is a little more complicated, due to the use of flight-sticks and the like)," reads the announcement.

The new gamepad configuration menu is accessible from the Options -> Advanced -> Controls -> Gamepad panel of the game, but only when a gamepad is detected. Another new feature included in Vendetta Online 1.8.407 is a "Local" option that has been added to the Mission Category filter for players to view all local missions of a sector.

New Capella-class capship coming soon

Among other changes included in the Vendetta Online 1.8.406-407 updates, we can mention that the Teller-Ulam mine ammo is no longer free in capships and there's now an "Insufficient Energy" warning message displayed when the player uses weapons that have more energy than the power call has, over 400.

It is also possible to use target lead-off reticule and automatic fire if a non-blaster weapon is located in the primary weapon group, and it looks like the logging functionality can now display a list of storage rental deductions sorted as items when you're charged each week.

Existing Vendetta Online users can now update to version 1.8.407 for free on Linux, Android, macOS, or Windows, but newcomers will have to buy the game from its homepage. Meanwhile, Guild Software is working on major new features for the game, including the new Capella-class capship. A trial version is also available for download.
