In a surprising move, Bigben publishers revealed a brand new game in The World of Darkness universe, Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong. This would be the third vampire-themed game that has been announced in the last couple of years, after Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2.

Developed by Big Bad Wolf, the same studio that gave us the surprisingly good five-episodic adventure The Council, Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong will release in 2021. There's no mention of platforms, but we believe it's safe to assume that the game will be launched on PC.

Not many details are available about the game since it's probably early in development. However, Bigben revealed some of the studio's hopes and dreams about Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong, so here is what they want to achieve.

First off, this would be Big Bad Wolf's most ambitious project to date. Secondly, the game will feature a strong story, supported by solid RPG mechanics that are in line with the fifth edition of Vampire: The Masquerade and the universe of The World of Darkness.

At the studio, we're long-time and passionate fans of the tabletop role-playing game Vampire: The Masquerade. We have wanted to create a video game inspired by this universe for several years now. This project fits perfectly with Bigben’s desire to expand its catalog of narrative games. We are very happy to be unveiling it together,” says Thomas Veauclin, Creative & Art Director at Big Bad Wolf.

We're also told that the player will take control of 3 vampires belonging to different clans of the Camarilla, the secret society that gather the majority of the vampires under its umbrella. Switching between characters and their tales, the player will eventually have to confront different points of view of his vampires to be able to tell what's fact and what's fiction.

The main objectives of the game are to protect your clan, discover the truth and, of course, enforce the Masquerade, the vampire law meant to conceal the existence of vampires from humans.
