This little app makes using emoji a piece of cake

Windows 10 comes with a completely new set of emoji and users can easily insert them into their conversations by launching the virtual keyboard from the system tray, though this is clearly a less convenient way that takes way too much time.

winMoji is a little Windows tool that makes the whole thing a lot less complicated because it displays all Windows 10 emoticons in a clean UI and requires just a single click to copy a specific emoji to clipboard.

So basically, once you install the app, it runs in the system tray and whenever you need it, just click the tray icon, pick the emoticon you want and then paste it in the conversation. Additionally, there’s also a small window that stays on top, speeding up the process a little bit.

How is this different from the touch keyboard that’s available in Windows 10? Basically, the method that Microsoft is offering in Windows 10 requires significantly more clicks, not to mention that emoji are grouped in categories here, so it could take longer until you find the right one for your conversation.

A search box that needs improvements

winMoji also comes with a search box, though we found it to be pretty useless because you cannot search for the feeling expressed by an emoji, but by the code it uses to be displayed in a chat window.

It goes without saying that winMoji is completely free of charge and is super-easy to use, though it requires being installed on a Windows 10 system.

There are absolutely no configuration options, and this is mostly because the entire app was designed to be very straightforward, albeit we’d recommend the developer to include some instructions and display them at least at first run to make sure everyone knows that clicking an emoticon automatically copies it to clipboard.

If you want to give this little app a try, you can download winMoji from Softpedia as it comes with a freeware license on Windows.
