14 DAY TRIAL // HTC and Google have partnered in order to develop two Nexus smartphones this year, and leaks on the upcoming devices have been surfacing for quite some time now. Recently, new concept renders have popped up online, revealing what the smartphone would look like in four color variants.
Just a few days ago, renders of HTC Nexus smartphones surfaced online. They were based on prototypes and suggested the two devices would have approximately the same design but differ in size and specs.
New renders have been posted online, this time by a Reddit user who used the previous images in order to change the color of the Nexus Sailfish smartphone and reveal what it would look like in red, white, and other colors. Therefore, these aren’t press images leaked from Google, but actually fan-made renders.
The new Nexus is depicted in multiple color variants
The upcoming Nexus appears in a dark gray variant, another color that will most likely be added to aluminum, white, and red. The red Nexus seems to be the nicest, especially since it slightly resembles the red Nexus 5 from a few years ago. Obviously, the front of the device stays black while the back and sides have different colors.
The upcoming Nexus Sailfish smartphone is said to have a 5-inch 1080p display and run a quad-core 2.0GHz processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and a 2,770mAh battery with 32GB of storage. The smartphone will sport a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front unit. Nexus Sailfish will also have a fingerprint sensor on the back and USB Type-C port on the bottom.
Nexus Marlin is the larger of the two smartphones, with a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display and a 12MP rear camera, with 8MP on the front as well. It will also have a quad-core 1.6GHz processor and 4GB of RAM. Battery capacity should reach 3,450mAh, and both smartphones will come with Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box.
