The second maintenance release of Unreal Engine 4.8

Stephen Ellis, a renowned Unreal Engine developer at Epic Games, has had the great pleasure of informing us about the immediate availability for download of the second hotfix release for the stable Unreal Engine 4.8 game engine for Windows, Mac OS X, and GNU/Linux operating systems.

According to the changelog, which we've attached at the end of the article for reference, Unreal Engine 4.8.2 is a bugfix release that removes over 30 issues reported by users or discovered by the Unreal Engine developers since the previous maintenance version of the cross-platform and highly acclaimed game engine.

Taking a closer look at the release notes, we can notice that Unreal Engine 4.8.2 fixes numerous crashes that occurred for various reasons, including during the saving of animation blueprint, during editor launch, on project open, during character interaction with assets, as well as when clicking connection wires between blueprints nodes.

It is now possible to use default settings when importing character animations, StrategyGame no longer crashes on Android devices, the curve editor will no longer break randomly in Cascade, the DynamicModifiersOnly navmesh generation mode now works correctly, and User Play Space Rot now changes things in Client Play Camera Shake.

Many other issues and crashes have been resolved

In addition to the changes mentioned above, the second point release of Unreal Engine 4.8 has resolved many other issues and crashes, including but not limited to the grayed-out LightSourceAngle and Convert Actor option (which could not be selected), artifacts generated by the OnPaint function, as well as the failure of writing localization manifest.
