December 23 could be the event date, it seems

Samsung has recently started the rollout of Android 13 for the Galaxy S22, but needless to say, all eyes are already on the next-generation flagship supposed to go live in just a couple of months.

With the South Korean company remaining tight-lipped on everything related to the Galaxy S23, it goes without saying that the rumor mill is full of information pointing to various release dates for this highly anticipated model.

We’ve known for a while that Samsung wants to launch the new smartphone earlier than usual, but so far, the earliest the leaks have gone was mid-January.

An alleged poster from Twitter user OreXda, however, indicates a very unlikely scenario. According to this leak, Samsung might be planning to announce the Galaxy S23 lineup on December 23, with the actual sales to kick off on January 6.

In other words, the announcement would go live later this year, while the first customers will receive the smartphone in early 2023.

This is a lot earlier than before. Last year, Samsung announced the Galaxy S22 on February 9, while those who pre-ordered the device received it beginning on February 25.

This year, however, the Galaxy S23 could be announced a lot earlier, though the late December unveiling doesn’t make much sense. This is because the whole thing would happen at a time when everybody is getting ready for Christmas, so a December 23 event wouldn’t receive as much as attention as Samsung’s flagship would deserve in the first place.

If anything, there’s a bigger chance to see Samsung announcing the Galaxy S23 in early January, with sales to kick off a couple of weeks later. But of course, Samsung hasn’t said anything about the calendar it has in mind for the new lineup, so take everything with a pinch of salt for the time being.
