Video game developer, Naughty Dog and publisher Sony, are announcing that they are bringing an entirely new game mode for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, called Plunder, to the PAX East event in the weekend, allowing fans to see what the new multiplayer experience has to offer.

The footage from the two companies offers gamers a limited look at the kind of gameplay that the mode will offer, and more details will be probably coming over the weekend.

Plunder is the Uncharted take on the classic Capture the Flag experience, with the big change that characters are able to throw the idol that acts as the flag.

Naughty Dog states, "Great teamwork is key to winning the match as you’re tasked with finding the idol on the map and bringing it to your home treasure chest. Plunder will be playable on the three maps you’ve seen in the Uncharted 4 Beta and Multiplayer Stress Test — Island, Madagascar City, and Rooftops."

In Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, those who have the idol can traverse the environment with it, which increases the tension in a game, and now each of the two features teams has four players to use in combat.

The development team says that the fans will be able to get more information about Plunder as they play it at PAX East.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will deliver DLC for the multiplayer

The focus for the franchise has always been on the single player and the stories centered on Nathan Drake and his weird schemes to find lost treasure and get his friends out of trouble.

Naughty Dog has said that the new title will offer more emotion than any other previous installment and will allow gamers to choose their answers during dialog for the first time, even if the company has no plans to abandon the linear nature of their narrative.

At the same time, they are planning to ensure the longevity of Uncharted 4 using its multiplayer, which will allow gamers to play as some of the best-known characters from the series in a wide variety of modes.

The studio also says that the success of downloadable content launched for The Last of Us has convinced them to deliver support in the long term for this final entry in the Nathan Drake focused franchise.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will be launched only on the PlayStation 4 home consoles on May 10 of this year.
