It looks like Chinese company Gionee plans to launch a new flagship smartphone or, at least, a high-end device that will pack a high amount of RAM and a powerful chipset.

An unannounced Gionee W909 has been recently spotted at Geekbench's database, and judging by the specs listed, it appears that the smartphone belongs to the high-tier category.

Unfortunately, Geekbench does not list most of the specs of a device tested with its benchmark, so we only know what chipset the W909 will pack inside and how much memory it will include.

Also, Gionee W909 has been confirmed to run Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, but we don't rule out Android 6.0 Marshmallow at launch.

Although there's a slim chance, Gionee could very well release its first ever Marshmallow-powered smartphone, and what better chance to do that than the launch of its flagship.

Aside from the fact that it runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, Geekbench also confirms the smartphone will be powered by MediaTek's Helio P10 chipset, also known as MediaTek MT6755.

It should pack at least 32GB storage

The 64-bit chipset hasn't been commercially released, but MediaTek announced earlier this week that it expects the Helio P10 SoC to be packed in more than 100 smartphones this year.

Gionee W909 is just one of the many high-end smartphones that will come equipped with an octa-core Helio P10 processor, which seems to be clocked at 2GHz.

The powerful processor is coupled with a Mali-T860 graphics processing unit and no less than 4GB of RAM. Sadly, there's no mention of storage, but we expect the smartphone to pack at least 32GB internal memory since we're talking about a flagship device.

These are all the details revealed by Geekbench, but we hope more info on Gionee's high-end smartphone to emerge in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
