Verizon could be the third major carrier in the United States to offer the ultra-rugged Kyocera DuraForce Pro. The smartphone is already available at AT&T and Sprint, but word has it that Kyocera plans to make it available through T-Mobile and Verizon as well.

According to Evan Blass, Verizon has already decided to add the DuraForce Pro to its portfolio, so the only things that have yet to be determined are when the phone will be available and for how much.

T-Mobile, on the other hand, is rumored to pick this one up by the end of the year, but we're still waiting for the Un-carrier to announce anything related to the rugged device.

The DuraForce Pro is a rather new device that made its debut in the United States back in October when AT&T and Sprint started to sell it through their official channels.

The smartphone comes with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box, and we don't expect it to be upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat.

The ultra-rugged device features IP68 certification for dust and water resistance (over 2 meters and 30 minutes), as well as military standard 810G grading for salt, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, transport, and thermal shock resistance.

Dual-camera setup, octa-core Qualcomm CPU

When it comes to hardware, Kyocera DuraForce Pro isn't that impressive, but it's not really supposed to do that considering that it's targeting customers who need a sturdy device they can use outdoors.

The DuraForce Pro sports a 5-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution. The phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, coupled with 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory (expandable up to 256GB via microSD card).

On the back, the phone packs dual cameras that consist of two 13-megapixel lenses, as well as LED flash. There's also a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front for selfies.

Kyocera DuraForce Pro is powered by a non-removable 3,240 mAh battery, which features Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 fast charging technology (60% in 30 minutes).
