The Ubuntu MATE project announced today on Twitter the release and general availability of the Ubuntu MATE 18.04.3 LTS and Ubuntu MATE 19.04 operating systems for the tiny GPD Pocket, GPD Pocket 2, and GPD WIN 2 computers.

Released earlier this month, Ubuntu MATE 18.04.3 LTS is the third instalment in the long-term supported Ubuntu MATE 18.04 LTS (Bionic Beaver) operating system series, shipping with updated kernel and graphics stacks from the more recent Ubuntu MATE 19.04 (Disco Dingo) operating system, including Linux 5.0.

While until now users were able to download Ubuntu MATE 18.04.3 LTS for 64-bit and 32-bit computers, starting today the operating system is also available to download for SOFTWIN's GPD Pocket and GPD Pocket 2 gaming computers, as well as for the Topjoy Falcon mini laptop.

The Ubuntu MATE team also announced the release of the Ubuntu MATE 19.04 (Disco Dingo) operating system for the 2019 revision (m3 8100Y) of SOFTWIN's GPD WIN 2 handheld gaming PC. However, according to project leader Martin Wimpress, Ubuntu MATE 19.04 should also work on the 2018 revision (m3 7Y30) of the GPD WIN 2.

You can download Ubuntu MATE 18.04.3 LTS (Bionic Beaver) for GPD Pocket, GPD Pocket 2, and Topjoy Falcon, as well as Ubuntu MATE 19.04 (Disco Dingo) for GPD WIN 2 right now from the official website. Meanwhile, the Ubuntu MATE team works on the Ubuntu MATE 19.10 (Eoan Ermine) operating system for the GPD MicroPC computer.

An early development release of Ubuntu MATE 19.10 for GPD MicroPC is available for testing from the official website as well, from where you can also download Ubuntu MATE 18.04.2 LTS for the Raspberry Pi 2, Raspberry Pi 3 Model B, and Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ single-board computers.
