Canonical just released a few moments ago the final ISO images of the Ubuntu 18.10 (Cosmic Cuttlefish) operating system ahead of the official launch later today.

After six months in development, Ubuntu 18.10 (Cosmic Cuttlefish) is now finally here, and you can download the ISO images right now for all official flavors, including Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu MATE, Ubuntu Budgie, Ubuntu Kylin, and Ubuntu Studio, for 64-bit and 32-bit architectures (only Lubuntu and Xubuntu).

The Ubuntu Server edition is also out and it's supported on more hardware architectures than Ubuntu Desktop, including 64-bit (amd64), ARM64 (AArch64), IBM System z (s390x), PPC64el (Power PC 64-bit Little Endian), and Raspberry Pi 2/ARMhf. A live Ubuntu Server flavor is also available only for 64-bit computers.

All editions and flavors run the latest Linux 4.18 kernel and ship with the most recent software releases, including LibreOffice 6.1 and Mozilla Firefox 62, as well as the GNOME 3.30, KDE Plasma 5.13, LXQt 0.13.0, Xfce 4.12, and MATE 1.20 desktop environments. Ubuntu 18.10 and its flavors will be supported for nine months, until July 2019.

Without any further ado, we invite you to download the brand new Cosmic Cuttlefish release as Ubuntu Desktop 18.10, Ubuntu Server 18.10, Kubuntu 18.10, Xubuntu 18.10, Lubuntu 18.10, Ubuntu MATE 18.10, Ubuntu Budgie 18.10, Ubuntu Kylin 18.10, or Ubuntu Studio 18.10 right now through our Linux software portal.

The downloads are links to the official ISO images from Canonical's server. You'll also be able to download Ubuntu 18.10 from the official website once Canonical makes this release official, or you can upgrade your older Ubuntu installation like Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (Bionic Beaver) or Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus).

While we don't encourage our readers to upgrade an LTS release of Ubuntu to a non-LTS one, you can do so if you want to use the latest technologies. Meanwhile, stay tuned for the official announcement if you want to learn more about the new features and improvements available in Ubuntu 18.10 (Cosmic Cuttlefish).
