14 DAY TRIAL // Ubisoft unveiled Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, a new action game that builds upon the experience of Wildlands.
Before the release of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands, the Ghost Recon franchise was very different. Ubisoft rebooted series, with great success, and now they are looking to move forward with a new title that promises to expand on what we experienced in the previous game.
To be fair, Tom Clancy novels are all about global-wide conspiracies, and they always follow the same pattern, making it difficult to turn them into something truly exciting. To their credit, Ubisoft succeeded in making these novels more captivating and resisted the urge to ditch the single-player altogether.
Bigger and better in every way
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint share the same game mechanics as its predecessor, but it also adds a so much new stuff that it’s difficult to keep track of everything.
“Steep slopes, accumulating injuries, and fatigue are new challenges for players to tackle as they test their survival skills in the varied terrains of Auroa. To overcome adversity, players will enjoy total freedom to accomplish their missions and have plenty of tactical options and tools at their disposal, including a set of new military features. They will be able to carry enemies and teammates’ bodies, blend into their environment with prone camo and set up camp with teammates in the bivouac to manage equipment, change classes, and fine-tune their strategies.”
As before, the game can be played solo or up to four other people in co-op. The action takes place on a remote island that’s been turned into a drone testing ground and building facilities by a few dangerous ex-Ghost Recon operatives, and your job is to shut them down.
Ubisoft was also quick to release a gameplay trailer for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, showcasing what the engine can really do. The game is scheduled for launch on October 4, 2019, for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
