UbiSoft has just joined the Open Gaming Alliance, and the company is now saying that it wants to better understand the PC gaming community and what they want from the publisher.

The Open Gaming Alliance is a non-profit organization that wants to promote the PC and the gaming industry that revolves around this platform. Some of you might remember a former incarnation of this association that went by the name of PC Gaming Alliance, but that is no more. The goal of the organization is pretty much the same, and we can only hope that it will have much more success than the previous one.

It's interesting to see that companies realize from time to time that PC is a business worth investing in and they try to rally to a common cause. The video console industry has been much more focused, and PC gaming took a step back, but it looks like things are changing, and companies like Ubisoft want to stay ahead of the game.

On the other hand, this is somewhat ironic because Ubisoft was a PC gaming company, and they still release PC games, which makes their statements a little bit weird.

Not the best choice of words for Ubisoft

When Ubisoft joined the Open Gaming Alliance, they also provided a small snippet. It's supposed to be a hand reaching out to the gaming community, but it only reflects what they really feel about the platform.

"PC gamers are important to Ubisoft, and we’re committed to better understanding and addressing their needs and to continually improving our relationship with them. By joining the OGA, we’re able to glean gamer insights from their research, learn from best practices in our industry and contribute to the group’s upcoming initiatives," said Sandrine Caloiaro, Consumer and Marketing Knowledge director, Ubisoft.

Other companies that have joined this new alliance include Intel, Dell/Alienware, Logitech, Razer, Unity, Webroot, and Lenovo.
