Developers are really trying to make something different

Far Cry 5 is almost upon us, with a launch scheduled for the end of March 2018. Ubisoft decided to reveal what DLCs are going to be added, and we have to say that they are completely bonkers.

The previous Far Cry games had pretty standard DLC, expanding on the original story,  but it looks like they are now pulling out all of the stops for this game. The DLCs for Far Cry 5 don’t expand on the original story, as much as taking the players through an LSD-induced trip that involves space and zombies.

Announcing all of the DLC that's going to be made available ahead of the official launch of the base game seems to be the policy for Ubisoft, at least for now. They did the same with Assassin’s Creed Origins. It’s something that can be both criticized and praised at the same time, depending on what side of the barricade you’re on.

Why not zombies and space missions?

If players get the Season Pass for Far Cry 5 or buy the Far Cry 5 Gold Edition, they will also get access to Hours of Darkness, Dead Living Zombies and Lost on Mars DLCs.

In Hours of Darkness, players will be able to go back in time, to Vietnam of all places, and save some fellow soldiers. As if this DLC is not crazy enough, in Dead Living Zombies players will have the opportunity to fight waves of zombies across seven different scenarios cooked up by a b-movie director.

And, to complete this bizarre picture, in Lost on Mars players will be fighting Martian arachnids to save Earth from an incoming invasion.

Furthermore, if you get the Far Cry 5 Season Pass on consoles users will receive Far Cry 3 Classic Edition. As for the PC players, they will get access to Far Cry 3 sometime after the launch.

We also have to mention the launch of Far Cry Arcade, a very advanced map editor that’s capable of pulling assets from other games, such as Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed Unity, and Watch_Dogs.

Far Cry 5 is set to launch on March 27th, for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, along with all of their variants.
