Bad news for Watch Dogs Legion players on PC, as Ubisoft has just announced the multiplayer mode revealed many months ago will no longer be released on March 23, at least not on PC. The French developer cites issues with certain tactical ops, which would make the game crash on PC.

This is the second time Watch Dogs Legion Online is delayed after Ubisoft initially announced it would come out in late 2020. After a brief internal beta in late February, it was revealed that Watch Dogs' multiplayer mode will be launched on March 9.

Unfortunately, Ubisoft revealed early this week that Watch Dogs Legion Online has been delayed indefinitely on PC. You can read below the French company's statement regarding the launch of the multiplayer mode:

We've identified an issue in the PC version that can cause the game to crash for players with certain GPUs. the team is working on fixing the issue as quickly as possible, and in the meantime, we've made the decision to wait to launch the PC version until this is fixed. We will communicate the new launch date as soon as possible.”

Surprisingly, Ubisoft has decided to go ahead with the launch of the multiplayer mode on consoles, although that won't happen on March 9 as initially stated. Instead, the studio confirmed Watch Dogs Legion Online will be available on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as Google Stadia, on March 23.

We have also identified an issue that can cause the game to crash during the Tactical Op. therefore we have made the decision to launch it on Xbox, PlayStation, and Google Stadia on March 23rd.”

Last but not least, Ubisoft announced that PlayStation 4 and 5 will have limited in-game text chat at launch. Although the developer says it's actively working on fixing this issue, it doesn't guarantee that the fix will be available on release day.
