Gods & Monsters and Watch Dogs: Legion are among them

In a surprising move, Ubisoft decided to delay all its major titles following less than stellar Ghost Recon Breakpoint sales. The French developer shuffled some of its employees between studios in an attempt to refresh its popular franchises. As a result, one of Ubisoft's most recent high profile addition, Mike Laidlaw, responsible for Dragon Age series, left the French company last week.

Today, Ubisoft revealed its third-quarter earnings and the report mentions its plans to launch “five new AAA games in 2020-21.” Three of them will be released in Q3 2020 (September - December), while the other two should be launched during Q4 2020 (January – March 2021).

We already know three of these triple A games that Ubisoft plans to launch in the next year or so: Gods & Monsters, Watch Dogs: Legion, and Rainbow Six Quarantine. The other two Ubisoft titles that should be released by March 2021 remain a mystery.

It can't be another Assassin's Creed game since the next one is scheduled for release in late 2021. The other two games that fit the profile could be Beyond Good and Evil 2 and Skull and Bones, but we doubt they'll be launched so soon considering we haven't heard anything about them lately.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft confirmed that for the third quarter ending December 31, sales came to €416 million, down 26%, compared to €562 million YOY (year-over-year). PC was the number one platform for net bookings, followed by PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.

Ubisoft says that we should expect more details about its roadmap at E3 2020, but it did say that three other games will make it to PC and console by the end of this year: Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and Uno Flip. Of course, these aren't triple A games and their impact on Ubisoft earnings for next year will probably be minimal.
