Ubisoft continues to add new tons of new content to Rainbow Six Siege, one of its most successful multiplayer franchises. Operation Steel Wave is the second season of Year 5 of Rainbow Six Siege and adds two new Operators, a new map rework, a tweak for Amaru, and a new secondary gadget.

Ace and Melus are the new Operators introduced with Operation Steel Wave, an Attacker and a Defender from Norway and South Africa, respectively. As a part of the Norwegian Home Guard, Ace acquired a heroic reputation.

Ace is equipped with S.E.L.M.A., a throwable and stickable device that will stick to any vertical surface and slowly destroy up to 3 panels, one after the other. The S.E.L.M.A gadget can also be thrown at almost any defensive gadget and destroy it with its arms or water explosives.

On the other hand, Melusi is equipped with Banshee deployable electronic gadgets. It applies a slowing effect to any attackers that are in a direct line of sight. The Banshee can also be used as an intel gadget as it produces an identifiable sound when an attacker entire its range.

Besides the new Operators, players will be able to explore a reworked House map. Here are some of the most notable changes mentioned by Ubisoft: expansions to the basement area, attic, and office tower.

But wait, there's more! Additional game updates include the following: unified MMR, Proximity Alarm, and the addition of Echo Elite set. Those playing as Amaru will be happy to know that the Peruvian Attacker is getting a tweak in Operation Steel Wave, which is meant to make her Garra Hook entries smoother and swifter.

Basically, Amaru will be able to use the Hook to break unreinforced floor hatches. Also, while her gadget will still break window glass when it grapples on to them, the barricade will only break when Amaru crashes through it, giving Defenders less warning.

All new content mentioned above will be free for all players when Operation Steel Wave launches, except for the two Operators which will be available at launch for Year 5 Pass holders only. However, all players will be able to unlock them using Renown or R6 Credits one week after launch.
