The beta runs from September 5-8 on all platforms

If you're not sure whether or not Ubisoft's upcoming Ghost Recon Breakpoint is worth your time and money, you're in for a nice surprise. The French developer has just announced a closed beta that will run from September 5-8, and lets players explore several provinces in the fictional archipelago of Auroa.

During the beta, players will be able to participate in Man Down, a special in-game charity event to raise money for Child's Play. Here is how it works: pick the medic class, revive your downed teammates in co-op, join the charity event. The more players participate, the more Ubisoft will donate.

Besides the charity event, closed beta offers access to two Operation Greenstone main missions, eight new Faction missions per day, a fairly decent number of side missions, and the possibility to engage against deadly drones in special Drone Areas. Keep in mind that you can play all the content in the closed beta solo, or with up to four players in co-op.

If you've already placed a pre-order for Ghost Recon Breakpoint, then you are guaranteed to received access to the closed beta. Here is how you can redeem your code:

5. You will get a confirmation email
There's one other important thing you can do before you jump into action. With one closed beta code, you can invite up to 3 friends to play with you. Here is how to invite friends:

Along with the closed beta, Ubisoft also unveiled Year 1 post-launch plans, which start with Episode 1 that expands on Operation Greenstone, followed by Episode 2: Deep State and Episode 3: Transcendence, releasing every four months. Episodes will be introduced every four months with content releasing over the course of the four months.

Ubisoft's Ghost Recon Breakpoint arrives on October 4 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC including Uplay+, and for Stadia when it launches.
