Finally capable of adapting to your iPad's screen

Twitter has just announced on their official blog that their iOS application has been updated to better adapt to the way your iPad displays content on its screen and to provide the end user with an optimized experience for his device.

Although on the iPhone and iPod users have long been able to take advantage of various responsive design techniques that helped the Twitter application reshape itself to offer the best possible way of browsing tweets and profiles, iPad users haven't been so lucky.

With this update things will change drastically because, according to the post on Twitter's blog, "iPad users will be able to create and see revamped quote Tweets, explore trending topics in search, visit product and place pages, and more."

Besides making sure that the iPad version allows users to enjoy an experience on par with the one available on other iOS devices, this update is also designed to effectively bring all Twitter apps for all iOS platforms on the same level of importance in the development cycle.

New Adaptive UI framework for adaptable layouts

This is possible with the help of Twitter's new framework named Adaptive UI, which, in theory, allows them to offer the highly flexible and responsive layouts for screens of any size or orientation.

Ultimately, having a simple-to-use framework in place will allow Twitter to ship any new feature they develop a lot faster to all iOS devices at the same time and with a suitable design for each of them.

As stated by Twitter's Brendan Donohoe in the same blog post, this means that you should get ready for their app to support multi-tasking on all iOS devices that will come with support for this feature when iOS 9 is released.

Ready for download on the App Store

Twitter 6.36 is available on Apple's iOS store, ready to be installed on any iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later and now capable of offering the same level of user experience on all of them.

Twitter is a social networking service designed to allow people to connect and share information using a tweet, simple 140-character messages.
