14 DAY TRIAL // Clockwork Pile and Retrovibe have just released another gameplay trailer of their upcoming turn-based tactical game Shardpunk: Verminfall. The new video goes deep into the tactical decision players must make in order to survive the rat swarm.
In Shardpunk: Verminfall, players must repel the siege of The Empire’s Capital. The so-called Rat Swarm managed to breach the walls and flood the city with vermin, so you’ll have to use a squad of surviving city-dwellers to escape and rescue as many others as you can.
To survive the onslaught, you’ll need to scavenge the destroyed city for resources, fight off rat vermin, and escape safely from the city. Aimed at tactical fans, Shardpunk: Verminfall challenges players to make the right decision to achieve their goals: will you use your precious supplies to rest and heal? Or will you take on lurking rat packs to gain experience and better weapons?
We’re not sure how punishing the game really is, but the folks at Clockwork Pile say that players will need to use every single tool at their disposal to push through the three districts included in their game.
On the bright side, the game promises to offer players a lot of flexibility when building your crew of survivors. We’re pretty sure players will find the best builds in no time, but we’re more interested in learning whether or not viable builds will cover all playstyles.
In any case, we’re bound to learn more about Shardpunk: Verminfall in the coming months since the game will not be launching this year. According to Clockwork Pile, Shardpunk: Verminfall is set for release on PC (via Steam and GOG) sometime in 2022.
The game will be localized in five different languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Polish, and Russian. More importantly, a demo is now available for free if you want to give it spin.
