14 DAY TRIAL // Fantasy General II: Invasion is the reboot of the strategy game classic from the 90s. Launched on PC back in September, that game is now taking it to consoles, publisher Slitherine announced this week.
Set in the magical world of Keldonia, Fantasy General II: Invasion features a massive single-player campaign with more than 30 missions and multiple pathways. Players will take control of the Clans of Barbarians, and choose allies and enemies, forging the mightiest possible army to face the Undead Empire and banish it forever.
If you're a console player, you'll be happy to know turn-based strategy game Fantasy General II: Invasion is now available on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms. The game is available for $40 / €40 / £27
Fantasy General II: Invasion features over 75 unique unit types, including powerful heroes and dragons. After each story mission, you'll have to make decisions regarding your army's retinue. You'll want to upgrade some of your weaker troops and turn them into elites, or further enlarge the number of troops in your army.
What's interesting is that each type of troops has at least two upgrade paths, so you can build your army in such a way that it fits your playstyle. You can be a bit more aggressive or play purely defensive. There's also room for middle-ground, so any strategy will work as long as you tackle each mission with wits and wisdom.
Keep in mind that the developer Owned by Gravity has already released the first expansion for Fantasy General II back in March. It's called Onslaught and it's only available on PC for $12.5 / €12.5, but we expect it to come to consoles as well.
The PC version of the game has been met with favorable reviews from both media and players, so it's definitely worth checking out if you're a fan of turn-based strategy games set in a fantasy world.
