14 DAY TRIAL // Truecaller continues to improve their Windows Phone application with new features and enhancements. The latest update coming for the Windows 10 Mobile version brings two significant new features that will undoubtedly increase the app's functionality.
First of all, developers confirmed they have added Cortana integration to Truecaller for Windows 10 Mobile, which means users will be able to search the application using the personal digital assistant.
For example, users can now search Truecaller for the number or name you are looking for, and then pop up the results without having to open the application.
There are several Cortana word sequences that you can use with Truecaller, but others might be added in the future:
Truecaller, do you know [INSERT NAME OR NUMBER HERE]; Truecaller, search for [INSERT NAME OR NUMBER HERE]; Look for [INSERT NAME OR NUMBER HERE] in Truecaller; Truecaller, find [INSERT NAME OR NUMBER HERE]; Who is [INSERT NAME OR NUMBER HERE] in Truecaller.
Naturally, this feature is only available for the United States language region since Cortana is not available in all countries.
Skype contact must have a phone number attached to profile
Another feature included in the latest update for the Windows 10 Mobile application is the option to identify Skype calls.
If you receive a Skype call that shows up in the Truecaller call history, you will now be able to tap the entry and see the Skype name. However, this is only possible if the person has a phone number attached to their Skype profile.
“It’s a one-stop shop for all types of calls – phone calls and VoIP calls –Truecaller is now able to detect calls from Skype, which makes Truecaller more of a powerhouse app to boost your phone experience,” says Hassan Ahmed, software engineer for Windows Mobile at Truecaller.
You can now download Truecaller for Windows 10 Mobile for free via Windows Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running Windows 10 Mobile and up.
