14 DAY TRIAL // The sequel to Transport Fever, one of those huge tycoon simulation games, has just received a release date. Developer Urban Games confirmed earlier today that Transport Fever 2 will be coming to Windows PC and Linux via Steam on December 11.
To celebrate the announcement, the original Transport Fever game is 80% off on Steam from now until Friday, November 8th, so if you want to play that until the sequel comes out, now is a good a chance to get it for just $6.
Transport Fever 2 promises to give players more than 150 years of real-world technology and history to design and master their own transportation empire with a vastly improved feature set, user interface, and modding capabilities.
You'll be making your fortune exclusively by designing elaborate new worlds of transport routes and infrastructure over land, sea, and air. The game lets you choose from over 200 realistically modeled vehicles from Europe, America, and Asia, including trains, buses, streetcars, trucks, aircraft, and ships, plus modular stations, airports and harbors.
Players will also be able to create and share their own worlds, missions, landscapes, vehicles and more with the in-game map editor and extensive modding tools and support via Steam Workshop. The game’s new ecosystem options allow users to choose from distinct natural environments, each rendered in great graphical detail.
Transport Fever 2 includes three campaigns across three continents with over 20 hours of playing time. There will be three landscape types – moderate, dry, and tropical, as well as over 50 challenging achievements in free play mode.
Dynamic economy and city simulation are important aspects of the game, as well as a detailed game world with physics-based lighting. Last but not least, the game features more than ten economic chains with associated factories and goods, and individually simulated land animals, birds and fish.
