If you dreamed of playing the Total War: WARHAMMER II turn-based strategy and real-time tactics video game on your Linux or Mac computer, we have some good news today as Feral Interactive announced it would port it to both platforms later this year.

Part of the amazing Total War strategy game series, Total War: WARHAMMER II is developed by Creative Assembly and published by Sega. It's the sequel to critically acclaimed Total War: WARHAMMER video game released two years ago on 24 May, 2016, which UK-based video games published Feral Interactive already ported to the Linux and macOS platforms in November 2016.

"The spectacular Total War: WARHAMMER trilogy continues on macOS and Linux later this year with the release of WARHAMMER II, a strategy game of titanic proportions," said Feral Interactive in today's announcement. "Wage war as the Dark Elves, High Elves, Lizardmen or Skaven and mount a campaign of conquest across the vast and fantastical landscapes of the New World."

Will be available on macOS and Linux later this year

While no release date was set in stone at the moment of writing, Feral Interactive said in today's announcement that it plans to release Total War: WARHAMMER II for Linux and Mac users later this year on Valve's Steam digital distribution platform, which means that sometime in the next few months we'll be able to play it on these two amazing platforms that are also great for gaming.

Feral Interactive is yet to announce the system requirements for Total War: WARHAMMER II on Linux and macOS, though they shouldn't differ much from those of the Windows version. We're curious to see if this port will be Vulkan-only on Linux and if both AMD Radeon and Nvidia GPUs are supported. Until then, check out the trailer video below, courtesy of Feral Interactive.
