It adds 13 playable factions, new units and new characters

Creative Assembly has just revealed the next DLC for Total War: Three Kingdoms, A World Betrayed. The new Chapter Pack DLC will release for PC on March 19, but can already be pre-ordered via Steam for €9 / $9 (10% discount included.

In case you didn't know, a Chapter Pack for Total War: Three Kingdoms adds new start positions and stories that cover time periods linked to the main narrative of the game, tying closely into the content and features of the main campaign.

A World Betrayed brings two new factions led by Lu Bu and Sun Ce, 13 playable factions, new unique battlefield units, new faction mechanics, new events and story missions, new legendary characters, new story events, and a brand-new 194 CE start date.

For those passionate about history, A World Betrayed covers the events that follow the Three Kingdoms conflict from 194 CE. Featuring the conflict between Cao Cao and Lu Bu, as the latter assassinate Dong Zhuo, Sun Ce starting his conquest of Jiangdong and Liu Bey has succeeded Tao Qian.

According to Creative Assembly, A World Betrayed is one of the most requested DLC by the players. It looks like many Total War: Three Kingdoms fans really wanted a DLC that would take place during this time period.

Apart from the new DLC that drops on March 19, Creative Assembly announced that new free content will be released on the same date. A new playable warlord who goes by the name of Yan Baihu, also known as White Tiger Yan, will be added to the game.

In addition to Yan Baihu, a number of new units and buildings playable across both the 190 CE and 194 CE time periods will be added too. You'll be able to download the free content via Steam on March 19.
