It looks like the folks at Creative Assembly are done with Total War: Three Kingdoms and are quickly moving forward to another title that visits Ancient Greece: TROY. Inspired by Homer's Iliad, A Total War Saga: TROY will release on Steam for PC in 2020 (make sure to add it to your wishlist on Steam if you want).

According to SEGA, TROY goes back in time to the Late Bronze Age to let players force a heroic legacy. With TROY, SEGA and Creative Assembly are trying to recreate one of the greatest stories known to us, as the historical period depicted in the game is rich with myth, legends, gods, and monsters.

Although the stories in TROY are cast through a historical lens, players will have the final say as to which heroes will fall in battle and which will be victorious. Some of the iconic heroes of Ancient Greece will fight on the battlefields for you, including renowned warriors like Achilles and Hector.

However, it will take more than brute force to conquer the legendary city of Troy. That being said, SEGA mentions that players will have to carefully manage their economy, conduct diplomacy among friends and foes, as well as ask for the favor of the Gods.

In TROY, the fate of Aegean civilization will be in your hands; each choice you make will shape the lands from the mythical heights of Mount Olympus to the arid deserts of Lemnos. Experience history as it may have happened or shaped the legend for yourself in this unique chapter of Total War.

The announcement comes with a cinematic trailer, so we're not treated with any gameplay action yet, but if you've played any previous Total War games, then you already know what to expect. Also, we've attached some in-game screenshots that show a little bit of action and some of Ancient Greece's absolutely gorgeous landscapes.
