Microsoft is expected to announce a new Surface Book model in the coming weeks, and while the company has remained completely tight-lipped on this, new findings provide us with an early look at the device.

We already knew that the Surface Book 3 would come with notable hardware upgrades, and according to an Energy Star certification spotted by WL, the top-of-the-range configuration is likely to feature the latest-generation Intel Core i7 processor paired with 32 GB of RAM.

This is something that we’ve heard before as well, but this new listing more or less confirms that a new Surface Book is just around the corner.

In addition to the processor and RAM upgrade, the Surface Book 3 could also come with at least 1 TB of storage, and there’s a good chance 2 TB would also be offered – some sources indicated that the company could go as far as 4 GB of storage for the SB3, but this is something that is yet to be confirmed by these unofficial “leaks.”

Announcement coming this month

The Surface Book 3 will continue to be offered in two different sizes, with the base model to boast a 13-inch display, just like the previous generation. The larger version, which is likely the one that will be offered with the specs mentioned above, will sport a 15-inch display.

Needless to say, the Surface Book 3 is likely to be a little bit more expensive than the current generation, mostly as a result of the hardware upgrades.

As far as the release date is concerned, there’s a very good chance the announcement would go live sometime this month, possibly at the Build developer conference that kicks off on May 19 as a digital event that would also be streamed online.
