14 DAY TRIAL // Nvidia launched the Titan RTX, their latest Titan graphics card and one of the Turing GPU series cards, after the release of the Quadro RTX cards and the consumer-grade GeForce RTXs.
"The Titan RTX graphics cards are powered by the Turing GPU architecture and the all-new RTX platform," according to its official web page on Nvidia's website. "This gives you up to 6X the performance of previous-generation graphics cards with the power of real-time ray tracing and AI."
Although the Titan RTX is not the most powerful graphics card in Nvidia's lineup, it is most definitely the best consumer choice for customers who have $2500 to spend.
As detailed by Nvidia, the RTX platform takes full advantage of the Turing architecture to give users the best possible looking renders via real-world physics simulation and advanced ray tracing techniques, with up to 6x the performance of previous-gen graphics cards.
Furthermore, the NVIDIA Turing GPU architecture is designed to combine artificial intelligence with real-time ray tracing, simulation, and rasterization abilities.
The Titan RTX packs 24 GB of GDDR6 memory
Regarding its hardware specs, the Titan RTX packs 24 GB of GDDR6 memory with a 384-bit interface and a whopping total memory bandwidth of 672 GB/s, 13 GB more VRAM than the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and on par with the Quadro RTX 6000 configuration.
The new GPU also boasts 72 RT cores designed explicitly for ray tracing operations, as well as 4608 CUDA parallel-processing cores, and 576 Tensor cores for deep learning.
Titan RTX also features a VirtualLink connector which makes connecting next-gen and high-res HMD devices a breeze, together with 3 DisplayPort connectors for 8K resolutions at 60 Hz, 1 HDMI, and a USB Type-C port to match all possible connectivity needs.
Although there is no specific release date available at the moment for the Titan RTX, rumors say that it will hit Nvidia's online store and will be available for purchase in Europe and the U.S. sometime during late December.
