After previewing the TicWatch E2 and TicWatch S2 earlier this month at the CES 2019 show, Mobvoi is now making the two smartwatches available for customers worldwide.

Both devices feature a similar tech sheet, and they are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor. They use a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 400x400 pixels and pack the essential sensor arsenal, including a heart-rate sensor, GPS, and a low-latency off-body sensor.

Just like their predecessors, the new TicWatch models run Wear OS, but this time, they also come with waterproofing, which means they can withstand being used in water up to 5 ATM.

Mobvoi has also developed a swim monitoring and analysis feature that lets you keep log swimming sessions, with support for different stroke types, laps, and speed, and burned calories.

Beginning with these two models, TicWatch models are also capable of offering fully automated activity recognition, as they integrate AI algorithms that help monitor all activities.

The S2 is the sportier model, and it has already received a MIL-STD-810G rating. This means it’s more rugged than the E2 version, despite sharing similar hardware.

Mobvoi is already working on more advanced capabilities that would be added later this year in a software update, including sleep monitoring. Furthermore, the company confirmed at CES that it’s developing a fall detection feature similar to the one on the Apple Watch, but specifics in this regard haven’t been shared.
