The device will look similar to the existing generation

Surface Pro 7 is one of the new models that Microsoft is expected to announce at its October 2 hardware event in New York.

And while the company has tried to remain completely tight-lipped on any specifics regarding the Surface Pro 7, people familiar with the matter have been leaking information about this new model for several months already.

And today, we get a pretty close look at what the Surface Pro 7 will bring new to the table thanks to high-resolution press photos published online by famous leaker Evan Blass.

These images show the Surface Pro 7 in black and silver variants and confirm they won’t bring too many changes in terms of looks as compared to the existing model.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 will look almost identical to the Surface Pro 6 judging from these photos, although there is a chance that more subtle refinements are actually there on the new model.

Going on sale later this month

On the other hand, this leak confirms that reports of a substantially redesigned Surface Pro model were inaccurate. Information that made the rounds a few weeks ago suggested that Microsoft planned two different versions of the Surface Pro 7, one of which would share the design with the current model, while the other would boast smaller bezels and improvements in other key areas.

Microsoft Surface Pro 7 will come with hardware upgrades under the hood, including new-generation chips from Intel.

However, an ARM-powered Surface is also in the works, but for the time being, it’s not yet clear if this is a variant of the Surface Pro 7 or not.

The new Surface Pro 7 will go on sale later this month after the public unveiling today, and the device will be sold alongside a new Surface Pen that will allow customers to make the most of its touchscreen.
