Microsoft will unveil its new-generation Surface device lineup this week, and people with knowledge of the matter have already said on several occasions that a new Surface Pro model is very likely to be launched as well.

But of course, the Redmond-based software giant has remained completely tight-lipped on everything, so as far as Microsoft is concerned, its September 22 event is still as mysterious as it gets.

On the other hand, information coming through unofficial channels online provided us with an early look at some of the specs of new Surface models, and today, it’s the turn of the Surface Pro 8 to get some love.

A tweet published by @Shadow_Leak on Twitter offers not only an early look at the hardware specifications of the new Surface Pro but also with a peak at its design, as a retail ad shows the device in all its glory.

While this can very well be just a placeholder, the photo shows the Surface Pro 8 with smaller bezels, something that was expected anyway, especially given Microsoft’s Surface lineup has been using the same design for several years already.

Windows 11 pre-installed

What’s more, the display could support a 120Hz refresh rate, and without a doubt, this is a massive upgrade. The Surface Pro 8 would be offered with a 13-inch screen, according to this leak.

Unsurprisingly, the device will come with Windows 11 pre-loaded, as the operating system would start rolling out to devices in the production channel early next month anyway. And last but not least, it could feature dual Thunderbolt support, as well as replaceable SSD storage, therefore making hardware upgrades much more convenient.

The Intel 11th-generation Core processor will be in charge of putting everything in motion, though it’ll be interesting to see if Microsoft also offers an AMD version, as it does on other Surface models.
