See how the iPhone X reacts to drops to the ground

The iPhone X is one super-expensive device, and despite costing at least $1,000, it’s quickly becoming one of the best-selling models ever released by Apple.

One of the biggest fears of whoever spends more than a thousand bucks on an iPhone X is to drop it to the ground because despite Apple swearing the device comes with “the most durable glass on a smartphone,” there’s still a risk of having the ridiculously-priced iPhone break into pieces.

This is exactly what some people are trying to determine right now, with a few YouTubers who have already gotten their hands on the iPhone X performing painfully-to-watch drop tests to figure out its durability.

EverythingApplePro and TechRax are two of the most popular, with the latter testing the iPhone X durability against the Samsung Galaxy S8. And while we’re not going to provide any spoilers because the videos are really worth a look, it’s important to note that in the first video, the facial recognition system somehow stopped working after a drop.

Face ID stopped working

It’s obviously not known how this happened, but it clearly was a result of the strong hit, which can be nothing but worrying for those who buy the iPhone X. This means the Face ID could break down following a hit, though there are absolutely no specifics regarding the strength of the shock that could cause such damage.

It goes without saying that a case can reduce the risk of any type of damage, but again, using a case might protect your investment but hide the exquisite design of the iPhone which Apple spent a considerable amount of time to create.

It remains to be seen how many iPhone X units end up shattered, but in the meantime, watch the videos below to know exactly why you have to pay more attention to the way you handle your $1,000 smartphone.
