Samsung is gearing up to take the wraps off the Galaxy S23, but the Unpacked event scheduled for February 1 is also expected to witness the unveiling of One UI 5.1.

And given this important software launch is just around the corner, the folks over at WinFuture managed to get access to the changelog, and unsurprisingly, it’s impressive.

First and foremost, One UI 5.1 will come with options to change the hue for selfies using the Effects button on the side of the screen, but also with quick access to Expert RAW from the Advanced menu.

The Gallery is also getting an overhaul, and thanks to this update, it’ll sport Shared Family Albums, better image processing to remove shadows and reflections, enhanced search, and settings to choose a location to save screenshots.

Then, the widget experience is also revamped. Samsung is introducing two new widgets for battery and weather, with the first to display information on all Samsung devices, including the earbuds and smartwatches.

Samsung is also improving the supports for moods and scenarios, so starting with One UI 5.1, users are allowed to set different wallpapers on the lock screen and the home screen depending on the current activities.

Samsung DeX is getting a refresh with improved multitasking, while Samsung Internet receives improved search by allowing users to look for bookmarks by a folder name.

Needless to say, One UI 5.1 is going to be a major release given the feature lineup, and it will come pre-loaded on the Galaxy S23. All the other devices will then receive the same improvements gradually, with the Galaxy S models expected to be provided with the update in the coming weeks.

Samsung, however, will share more information on the schedule during the Unpacked event.
