Video game developer CD Projekt RED is announcing that the 1.12 patch for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now live on all platforms on which the title is offered, delivering a range of tweaks and fixes that should improve the experience for all those enjoying the adventures of Geralt.

The company is delivering changes linked to the Hearts of Stone expansion content, with the balance of the combat improved regardless of difficulty and some other tweaks to quests and general world design.

Gamers who want to see a full list of the changes made in patch 1.12, including improvements to user interface, visuals and more, can see them all by clicking on the button at the end of this article.

The update is live on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, and gamers should download it as quickly as possible to improve their overall experience.

The development team at CD Projekt RED has suggested that this is the final major update that they are planning to deliver before the launch of the new Blood and Wine expansion, which is designed to expand the story of Geralt by about 20 more hours while allowing gamers to explore a new area with a distinct personality.

The studio has not yet revealed an official launch date for its new content, which is set to close down the saga of The Witcher 3, although more patches might be delivered after that to further improve the balance.

CD Projekt RED has already said that the rumors talking about an Enhanced Edition for its most recent title that appeared are false, with the company determined to make sure that updates are enough to improve gameplay.

Some fans are asking for major changes to the combat system, but it is unlikely that they will be implemented, with the studio apparently only interested in making some difficulty tweaks.

The Witcher 3 is one of the most appreciated video games of 2015

The action role-playing game has managed to pick up a lot of Game of the Year awards, with both gamers and critics praising its open world concept and the way the team has treated main character Geralt and his associates.

Wine and Blood is designed to take the protagonist to another area, called Toussaint, which hides a dark and bloody secret that gamers will have to uncover while dealing with a new cast of characters.

CD Projekt RED has not said whether it will only deliver new story moments or if there are any significant mechanical changes coming to The Witcher 3.

Wine and Blood might be the final adventure to star Geralt as the developers focus on their Cyberpunk project and explore ways to work on their fantasy-driven series using a new character.

Some fans are speculating that a bigger expansion featuring Ciri will be announced at some point in late 2016 and will allow The Witcher franchise to continue, using new ideas and a new take on the familiar world.
