One of the best RPGs launched last year, The Outer Worlds is getting its first expansion next month, but Obsidian fans likely know that. Dubbed Peril on Gorgon, the first expansion for The Outer Worlds will be available on September 9 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC for $15.

If you've played The Outer Worlds by paying for an Xbox Game Pass subscription, keep in mind that you won't gain access to the upcoming expansion. However, the publisher Private Division announced that Xbox Game Pass subscribers will receive a 10% discount on the DLC.

Furthermore, Peril on Gorgon will also be available as part of The Outer Worlds Expansion Pass, also coming on September 9. The season pass for Obsidian's masterpiece will also include the second story expansion, Murder on Eridanos, for a discounted price of $25. Make sure that you own the base game though since both expansions require it.

Now, if you're not sure that you want to play more The Outer Worlds, Obsidian released today a comprehensive gameplay walkthrough that shows some combat and the premise of the expansion. While there aren't too many spoilers in the 11-minute video, if you're going for a blind run, you might want to skip it, as new weapons and characters are shown.

The good news is you'll only see footage from one side quest, suggestively called “Love Is The Plan, The Plan Is Death.” Apart from getting a bit of the feel of the expansion, the video also offers a first look at the Gorgon Asteroid and the new weapons that you'll have access to.

In case you're wondering, The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon is supposed to bring players a substantial amount of content, including a brand new noir-tinged adventure that takes players to the Gorgon Asteroid to investigate the mysterious origin of Adrena-Time.

Keep in mind that to be able to access the upcoming expansion, you must progress past Monarch. So, maybe it's time to finish The Outer Worlds in case you didn't already; Peril on Gorgon seems like a great addition to Obsidian's RPG.
