14 DAY TRIAL // We're more than a month away from The Outer Worlds' release, which usually means that we get more trailers, more images and, obviously, more information about the game. Today, Private Division and Obsidian Entertainment revealed a new trailer for The Outer Worlds, which provides us a closer look at life in the Halcyon colony.
At first glance, it looks like The Outer Worlds will accommodate players in the exotic universe no matter how bad they are at playing RPGs. Naturally, a little bit of experience goes a long way, especially when it comes to the social aspect, but overall, The Outer Worlds feels like the perfect title for newcomers and veterans of the RPG genre alike.
The Outer Worlds, the upcoming single-player first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division, puts players in the shoes of colonist bound for the furthest edge of the galaxy. Deep in your sleep, you awake decades later only to find yourself in the middle of a major conspiracy that could potentially destroy the Halcyon colony.
The Halcyon colony is home of some of the biggest corporations from the Earth, so as you explore the furthest reaches of space, you'll encounter various factions, each trying to gain control over parts of the colony or simply looking for power in general.
Just like in every other RPG, you'll be able to create your character and decide whatever you wish to become, which will determine how the game's story unfolds. You'll be visiting rich, full of life communities on Terra 2, as well as the dangerous frontiers on Monarch teeming with exotic wildlife.
To survive some of the harshest worlds, you'll have to arm yourself with devastating weapons and team up with a host of characters who will help you in your adventure.
The Outer Worlds will release for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC (via the Microsoft Windows Store and Epic Games store) on October 25, 2019. The game is also coming to Nintendo Switch, but no release date has been announced at this time.
