September and October shape up to be some kind of prep classes for gamers waiting for November's big releases. Many of the most important games of 2020 will be launched in November in a very small window, including Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Valhalla and CD Projekt RED's Cyberpunk 2077.

Until then, let's see what we can play in the next month or so. Fans of the real-time strategy genre will be happy to know the Crusader Kings 3 is a masterpiece. The game made its debut on PC on September 1 and is available for free on Xbox Game Pass.

Iron Harvest is another real-time strategy game that launches on September 1 on PC, alongside a quite different game – Ary and the Secret of Seasons, which will not only be available on PC but PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch as well.

The list of game releases continues to Spellbreak (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch) and WRC 9 (PC, PS4, Xbox One), which both drop on September 3. The next day Activision-Blizzard's Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 remaster hit PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, but it will not be the biggest launch of the day. Marvel’s Avengers and NBA 2K21 will hit PC and consoles on September 4 too.

Necromunda: Underhive Wars is scheduled for release on PC and consoles on September 8, just like Star Renegades (PC) and THQ Nordic's Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning (PC, PS4, Xbox One).

Inertial Drift is the next indie title coming out on September 11 (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch), followed by Spelunky 2's PlayStation 4 release on September 15. Football fans will be able to pick up PES 2021, which is just a Season Update, on the same day.

We're not yet sure if Crysis Remastered will make it to PC and consoles on September 18, but save the date in case it does. Also, on the same day, WWE 2K Battlegrounds hits PC and consoles.

Next in line, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim launches on PlayStation 4 on September 22, and then it's time for some serious mayhem as Serious Sam 4 takes on PC and Google Stadia on September 24. Two other smaller games are coming out on September 24: Tears of Avia (PC, Xbox One) and Going Under (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch).

September ends with a blast as some major titles are set to release in the last week of the month. First, we have Port Royale 4 and Mafia: Definitive Edition launching on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on September 25. Finally, Baldur’s Gate 3 Early Access is expected to arrive on PC and Google Stadia on September 30.
