Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, Call of Duty, and The Outer Worlds

The month of October is quite busy for gamers of all types. High-profile shooter games are coming out this month, as well as RPG and even a couple of turn-based strategy games in the same vein as Darkest Dungeon. But most of all, October seems to be the month of story-based titles, so if you're into this type of games, read further.

The month kicks off with the Switch port of Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition and early access for those who bought the Gold and Ultimate editions of Ubisoft's Ghost Recon Breakpoint. On the same day, October 1, Bungie launches the first-ever Destiny-related contend after breaking up from Blizzard, Destiny 2: Shadowkeep.

The PlayStation-exclusive Concrete Genie is set for release on October 8, while quirky RPG Paranoia: Happiness is Mandatory is coming to PC five days earlier on October 3. Indivisible and Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince are both coming to all platforms on October 8, along with highly-anticipated John Wick: Hex.

Two games that received raving reviews at launch, Frostpunk and Children of Morta are getting their console release on October 11 and October 15, respectively. Disco Elysium is an upcoming RPG that promises to offer between 60 and 100 hours of gameplay. You can check it out on PC on October 15 when the game is set for release.

The Switch version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete edition drops on October 15 as well, along with Overwatch for Switch. Quite a few important titles are remaining for the second part of the month.

First off, there's MediEvil remake coming to PlayStation 4 on October 25. Then, we have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and The Outer World releasing on the same day, October 25.

Three important Switch ports are scheduled for October 29: Devil May Cry 2, Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. For jRPG fans, Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout releases on October 29 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Switch, on the same day the Yakuza 4 Remastered drops on PlayStation 4.
