Unlike many of the previous months, May brings quite a few high-profile games for fans of many different genres. If you're a Mass Effect fan, then you're probably very excited about the Legendary Edition bundle coming out in about two weeks from now.

But first things first, so let's see what the first week of the month looks like. If you're more of an Xbox fan rather than PlayStation, you'll be happy to know that Dragon Quest Builders 2 is coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on May 3. We have the next launch on May 6 when Highrisers should hit PC. More importantly, Skate City is coming to (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on the same day.

One of the biggest game releases of the next month, Resident Evil Village launches for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on May 7. Fans of the Metro series will get the chance to play Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition on PC on the same day. Flowing Lights, an arcade puzzle shooter that we've already written about releases on PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on May 7.

Hood: Outlaws & Legends is the next major release, as the PvPvE action game from Sumo Digital lands on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on May 10. Co-op arcade shooter Mad Devils is scheduled for release on PC on the same day, followed by Retro Machina (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch) and Sherwood Extreme (Steam Early Access) on May 12. Another indie game coming to Steam Early Access on May 13 is GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon.

The highly anticipated Mass Effect Legendary Edition drops for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on May 14, but there's something good coming to Nintendo fans too, as Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir / Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind launches on Switch on the same day.

Many believe that Days Gone is one of the best PlayStation exclusives in the last couple of years, but that exclusivity is ending this year, as the game is set for release on PC on May 18. We highly recommend picking this one up if you're into action shooter games.

Next in line, we have Snowrunner coming to Nintendo Switch on May 18, Elite Dangerous: Odyssey for PC on May 19, along with two other PC games arriving on May 20: Of Bird and Cage and Open Country.

We have a couple more game releases on May 20, so if you're into indie games, here are three of them: Just Die Already (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch), The Longest Road on Earth (PC) and The Wild at Heart (PC, Xbox One). Nintendo's Miitopia launches on Switch on May 21, the same day as Kowloon High-School Chronicle

The console version of Rust arrives on PS4 and Xbox One on May 21, while Knockout City launches on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch on the same date. Another major game release is set for May 25, as Biomutant lands on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
