An even busier month for gamers than February

By everyone’s standards, February was peak awesomeness when it comes to game releases. We had at least two masterpieces launched this month, Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West, as well as other high-profile titles like Total War: Warhammer III and Dying Light 2.

However, March shapes up to be just as great with tons of game releases, so there’s likely to be no breath for gamers next month either. Although it’s not as rich in highly-anticipated games as February, next month has a little bit of everything for everyone.

When it comes to game releases, March 2022 debuts in full force with no less than eight games coming out on the first day. The most important ones are Shadow Warrior 3 (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One) and ELEX II (PC), PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S), but there are a bunch of other indie games that I can’t recommend enough.

For example, the sequel to Puzzle Quest is launching tomorrow March 1 on PC and mobile (Android, iOS). Also, keep your eyes on Conan Chop Chop (PC, PlayStation4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch), FAR: Changing Tides (PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch), Pants Quest (PC), and Little Orpheus (PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch).

Instruments of Destruction is another PC title that will be launching into Steam Early Access on March 1. The next day is just a tad less crowded with “just” three games coming out: Zombie Rollerz: Pinball Heroes (PC, Nintendo Switch), 35MM (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch), and A Musical Story (PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch).

The next major release set for March is Babylon's Fall, which is scheduled to launch on PC and PlayStation 4/5 on March 3. Square Enix’s action-adventure RPG accompanied by an equally important title (even if it’s indie): Beholder 3 (PC).

Still, March is all about racing, as Gran Turismo 7, the most recent entry in the critically-acclaimed series debuts on PlayStation 4/5 on March 4. There are a few other indie games coming out the same day, so if you’re not interesting in racing games, you might want to pick up any of these titles: Triangle Strategy (Nintendo Switch), Survival Quiz City (PC), and What Lies in the Multiverse (PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch).

There’s a bit of a breath room here, as the next games are launching on March 8: Have a Nice Death (Steam Early Access) and Core Keeper (Steam Early Access). Another racing game title set for release next month is Chocobo GP, which will be exclusively available on Nintendo Switch on March 10.

The game will be accompanied by three other games: Submerged – Hidden Depths (PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S), No Place Like Home (PC), and Aztech Forgotten Gods (PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch).

On March 11, WWE fans will be able to take a gander at the next installment in the franchise. WWE 2K22 is scheduled for release for PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Mid-March brings yet another big release, as Rockstar is finally bringing GTA 5 to the new generation of consoles. GTA 5 lands is slated to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on March 15.

Finally, Phantom Breaker: Omnia is an indie coming out on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on the same day, March 15.

One of the indies that made a splash during Microsoft’s ID@Xbox Showcase one year ago, Tunic is set for release on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on March 16, followed by Ubisoft’s The Settlers (PC), and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax (PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch), which are to be released on March 17.

The long-awaited Syberia: The World Before is finally making its debut on PC on March 18, the same day that Square Enix is expected to bring Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin to PC PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

The last part of the month is peppered with indie games, such as Rune Factory 5 (Nintendo Switch), Norco (PC), Highrise City (Steam Early Access), Lumote: The Mastermote Chronicles (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch), and A Memoir Blue (PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch), which are set for release between March 22-24.

One of the bigger Nintendo Switch titles, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is expected to arrive on March 25, the same day Bethesda’s weird Ghostwire: Tokyo is set for release on PC and PlayStation 5. If neither if your cup of tea, perhaps Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands (PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) will be more to your liking, as Gearbox’s next Borderlands spin-off is set to debut on March 25.

Even more indies are expected to be released on March 28-29, including Nightmare Reaper (PC), King Arthur: Knight's Tale (PC), Ikai (PC, PlayStation 4/5, Nintendo Switch), and Abermore (PC).

Strategy fans will be happy to know that Paradox Entertainment’s Crusader Kings 3 is coming to consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X/S) on March 29, followed by Death Stranding Director’s Cut PC version, which is set to debut on March 30. The month ends with a bang, as one of the most anticipated indie games, Weird West will be out on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 31, alongside Coromon (PC, Nintendo Switch), and FixFox (PC).
