The quietest month of the year lacks any major releases

Typically, the last month of the year is the quietest when it comes to game releases, and this year is no exception. Although December 2019 debuts in full force with a handful of interesting indie games, there are no major releases this month.

We've put together a comprehensive list of all the game release happening this month, but if you're aware of another title that hasn't been included below, feel free to get in touch and we'll update the story.

One of the most anticipated game releases of December 2019 is Arise: A Simple Story (PC, PS4, Xbox One), which will make its debut on December 3. Six other games will be launched on the same day: EarthNight (PC, PS4, Switch), Saga Scarlet Grace: Ambitions (PC, PS4, Switch, Android, iOS), Skellboy (Switch), Simulacra (PS4, Xbox One, Switch), Tools Up (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch) and Farming Simulator 20 (Switch).

Also, December 3 marks the end of the Life is Strange 2 saga as Episode 5 will be out on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Phoenix Point, the turn-based strategy game from Julian Gollop, the mastermind behind the XCOM series, arrives on PC and Xbox One on December 3.

The Enhanced Edition of the classic Neverwinter Nights role-playing game is set to debut on PS4, Xbox One and Switch on December 3. Next in line, we have the investigation puzzler Interrogation: You will be deceived, which is set to launch on PC on December 5.

The Daksiders spin-off, Darksiders Genesis, lands on PC and Stadia on December 5, while the console version is coming early next year. On the same day, we have two other titles: Star Ocean First Departure R (PS4, Switch) and Mosaic (PC).

Assassin’s Creed fans will be happy to know that The Rebel Collection, which includes Black Flag and Rogue, will land on Switch on December 6. Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is getting its console launch (PS4, Xbox One) on the same day, while Ashen is coming to PS4 and Switch on December 9.

Another high-profile game, Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries is expected to arrive on PC on December 10, the same day Hades, an Epic Store exclusive, is supposed to launch on Steam Early Access. We have five other games coming on December 10 on various platforms: Avicii Invector (PC, Xbox One), Call of Juarez: Gunslinger (Switch), Hearthstone: Descent of Dragons (PC, Mobile), Shovel Knight: King of Cards (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch), and Shovel Knight Showdown (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch).

Furthermore, Vampire: The Masquerade – Coteries of New York, a visual novel based on White Wolf Publishing's tabletop RPG Vampire: The Masquerade, will launch on PC on December 11, along with Transport Fever 2 (PC).

They will be followed one day later by Jamestown Plus (PC, Switch) and Superepic (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch). The last game of 2019 that we know of is Wattam, which will drop on PC and PS4 on December 17.
