14 DAY TRIAL // The number of Linux laptops available out there is growing, and today we’re adding another big name to the list.
TUXEDO Computers and Manjaro Linux have worked together on what’s officially known as the Manjaro InfinityBook S 14 v5, a Linux laptop that tips the scales at just 1 kg and features an impressive 73 Wh battery.
The laptop was originally announced in April, and it’s available today beginning at 1,264 Euros ($1,384).
One of the highlights is certainly the battery life, as the two companies claim it can even reach a full day per charge.
“In combination with Intel's newest 10th gen ("Comet Lake") ultra low voltage (ULV) processors the TUXEDO InfinityBook S 14 reaches a record-breaking battery life of up to 24h! And if you need to recharge, the extremely compact and 140g lightweight power supply fits easily into your luggage!” TUXEDO Computers explains.
No Thunderbolt just yet
The laptop is powered by an energy-efficient Intel Core i5-10210U that can be upgraded to the Intel Core i7-10510U on higher-spec configurations. It can be paired with a maximum of no less than 40 GB of RAM, while for storage you can go as high as 2 TB.
For graphics, you’re getting an integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 board, while in terms of connectivity, the 14-inch laptop comes with one USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A port, one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A port, one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C, one HDMI connector, a headphone jack, and a microSD card reader. There’s no Thunderbolt on this Linux laptop though.
And of course, since the laptop has been created in collaboration with Manjaro, it’s not hard to figure out what operating system it’s running.
“To give fans the best possible experience, we have worked together to implement Manjaro Linux for TUXEDO InfinityBooks Pro Series. Under both flagship desktops, KDE Plasma and Xfce, all special features are 100% implemented and provide fun from the start,” the manufacturer explains.
