Delivery times increasing substantially, it seems

We’ve known for a while that Apple was working on a new iPhone SE, and if all the latest reports are accurate, then the unveiling could take place as soon as this month.

While everybody is still waiting for the Cupertino-based tech giant to come up with a confirmation, which will obviously land in the form of the spring event invites, the company just wants to stay shut as per its typical approach.

In the meantime, a report from iMore reveals that the current iPhone SE is harder to find, as the stocks seem to be rather constrained across the world.

In other words, it just looks like Apple is now trying to clear out the existing iPhone SE inventory and therefore prepare the market for the upgraded model.

Cheaper iPhone SE

Most likely, the new model will be priced similarly to the existing version, but at the same time, some people familiar with the matter have recently revealed that Apple considered a unique approach that would have made the iPhone SE the cheapest smartphone it ever sold.

The company apparently wanted to keep the current iPhone SE model around even after the 2022 successors see the daylight. The whole thing came down to the price, as the iPhone maker would have made the older model much more affordable, possibly in the $199 region.

At this point, it’s not known if Apple is still in favor of this idea, but the limited inventory across the world doesn’t seem to point in this direction. If the company is indeed trying to clear out stocks, then the current iPhone SE is scheduled to go dark sooner rather than later, but expect more information on this front to be shared during Apple’s spring event that should be announced any minute now.
