Video game developer Ubisoft Massive has been working hard to make sure that all interested gamers have a clear understanding of the mechanics of the coming The Division, with a new video offering details about the skills characters will be able to deploy as they take back New York City.

Tech, Medical and Security are the three categories, each of them designed to offer a distinct set of abilities that can benefit both the player himself and the group he is working with during a mission.

The video is very informative, and Ubisoft needs to continue to deliver more information as The Division gets close to its launch date in a little more over a month.

The closed beta for the title allowed plenty of gamers to see some of the core mechanics in action, but Ubisoft has only shown a limited range of the content that will be featured in the full version of the role-playing game, shooter and MMO mix.

Gamers were able to experience exploring New York while taking down both Cleaners and Rikers, but the title also references a third major faction controlled by the computer, called the Last Man Battalion, which seems to pose more danger in direct combat because of the skills of its members.

The Division will feature extensive content for high-level players, and an unprepared player could be taken out by an enemy with just a few shots in certain areas, which is why Ubisoft is advising everyone to work in groups and to make sure that they get solid gear.

The game offers both PvE and PvP action

Gamers can play through the new Ubisoft experience on their own if they want, focusing on the story that explores the plague that affected the United States of America on Black Friday and the way order can be restored.

Groups will be more efficient when dealing with capable enemies and will also be able to deploy more skills during tricky situations.

For those who are interested in Player versus Player action, the game introduces Dark Zones, which offer high-level gear that needs to be sterilized before extraction, offering all those present a chance to turn on the player.

Ubisoft will probably run an official open beta for The Division between February 16 and 21, giving those playing on the Xbox One a head start of 24 hours, but the publisher has not yet revealed the kind of content that fans will be able to access during testing.

The Division will be launched on March 8 and can be played on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

According to Ubisoft, there are no plans to introduce microtransactions to the title, but a range of post-launch content will be offered, designed to expand both the world that gamers can explore and the core combat mechanics.

The company has also made it clear that its game is different from Bungie's Destiny, despite some superficial similarities when it comes to the main mechanics and the fact that both of them mix a variety of genres.
