The team at Ubisoft in charge of The Division is announcing that it plans to bring down the servers for the title on Thursday, March 10, at 7 AM Central European Time, which is the equivalent of 10 PM Pacific Standard Time, to perform some maintenance work.

According to the official announcement, downtime is expected to last for about 2 hours, and the company will make an official announcement if it needs more time to complete the required work.

It's unclear whether there are any kinds of changes to the server side of The Division that will be implemented during this period.

The servers that power the video game were briefly overwhelmed during launch day, but since then, they have held up well, and fans will be happy to see that Ubisoft is trying to keep the maintenance as short as possible.

The company also delivered a 1.1 update for The Division when the game released, with both some bug fixes and balance changes, and at the moment, it's unclear when a new major patch is planned to arrive.

The Division mixes third-person cover shooter mechanics with ideas from the role-playing genre and with the online component of an MMO, although gamers can experience big swaths of the title without working or meeting others.

Three major content drops are planned at the moment

The short-term focus might be on making sure that servers work as well as possible and on the delivery of another update, but Ubisoft is also already working on a lot of post-launch content for The Division.

In April, gamers will receive a piece of DLC, called Incursions, which will introduce a new game mode that's designed to offer a major challenge for groups of four high-level players while also allowing those who play together to trade loot.

Conflict is coming in May, being the second of the two free updates, with another incursion and other new game features.

The first paid DLC is called Underground and is set to be offered at some point in June, opening up tunnels under New York for both battle and exploration while introducing a new powerful faction that gamers will have to deal with.

Survival will introduce a new game mode, although it seems that it will not be horde based, and this is the second pack that will be offered on the Xbox One with a 30-day timed exclusivity.

Finally, The Last Stand is expected to launch during the winter and will mark the final major release of the first year of life of the game.
