Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is preparing for Title Update 3, and Ubisoft shared some details about the upcoming changes.

The biggest problem with massive games such as Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is balancing. There are so many working pieces that it’s practically impossible to keep everyone happy, so the developers usually do the next best thing, and that is to improve the game for most people. One of the ways to achieve that is through constant updates and talking with the community.

Ubisoft knows that getting the community involved in the balancing process will keep players happy, and they had this experience from the previous Division game. The studio is now following the same road with The Division 2 it seems to be working.

Title Update 3 is a major one

After lots of players reached the level cap, they were confronted by some various problems that were extremely frustrating. Among the issues is the loot drop, which is hugely disappointed. Basically, after level 500, the game would drop low-level gear that’s basically useless and very few relevant items, increasing the overall grinding factor.

One of the essential changes consists of guaranteed Gear Score 500 drops for most of the relevant activities, which in theory would mean much less grinding. Surprisingly, this is not actually the most significant news for Title Update 3. The gear score is not going to be increased to 515 right now, as it was initially intended, and for a good reason.

“Gear Score 500 items would have been outdated immediately, and all the effort you put into min/maxing and farming your builds would have been wasted just as the Raid goes live. We don't want to invalidate your progression, and we heard that feedback loud and clear from our community. Your gear and your builds are important to you and to us,” read the announcement.

Some balancing is taking place in the Dark Zone as well, which is not as populated as Ubisoft would want. Also, the PvE component is also going to see some changes for time to kill, NPCs, player survivability and the difficulty of missions and Control Points. Title Update 3 is expected to arrive by the end of May. You can check out the entire list of changes in the full announcement.
