14 DAY TRIAL // The Dark Eye pen & paper tabletop is the German version of D&D, but it didn't get the same amount of love from game developers. After the release of the Drakensang series, few other games set in The Dark Eye universe made it to PC.
But that's about to change as publisher Wild River Games and developer Random Potion announced their new game based on Germany's best-selling pen & paper tabletop license – Book of Heroes will be launched on PC this summer.
The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes is a co-op multiplayer RPG that promises a deep and solid character creation system, multiple fantasy racial background, professions, and skills to help players create versatile adventurers.

With over 35 years of tabletop evolution to reference, The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes is the perfect setting for fans of old-school RPGs, and the team at Random Potion has done an incredible job of bringing it to life on the PC,” said Marc Wardenga, CEO of Wild River.
Book of Heroes plays the same as the old-school cRPGs like Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights, which means battles are fought in real-time with pause. Set in The Dark Eye universe, the game sends players on an adventurous journey through the lands of Aventuria, where they will have to hack, slash, sneak, steal, and connive to survive.
The game lets players choose from 12 different professions and four classic species with customizable appearances and unique quests, tasks, and agendas. In Book of Heroes you can party up with up to four friends online or on the couch, but a solo mode is included too for those who want to experience the game by themselves.
We're hearing the game will offer around 20 hours of gameplay and will cost €40. The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes is now listed on Steam, so those interested can already wishlist it.
